Drummer Friend is a preset/programmable drum machine for mobile devices with Android OS,
based upon a sequencer and realtime wavetable synthesis (no loops are used).
It plays the drums like a real drummer using some sophisticated techniques.
Different samples for different volume and different samples to play more times same sound at the same volume are used, simulating both the change on timbre due to volume of sounds and left-right hand touch of a real drummer.
An Humanization engine give the desired level of gaussian distributed error on timing and velocity using a model of real behaviour of human drummer.
The original version of Drummer Friend uses 2 kit: standard and groove:
the standard kit focuses on multiylayer and groove kit uses both multylayer and multisample.
The HD, High Dynamics, Extreme version offers four stunning multilayer/multisample extended drums kits: high dynamics, ludwig vintage, dirty jazz, sonor force 3001. Over 700 stereo cd quality samples.
Both version come with over 140 rhythms covering almost all styles, everyone user customizable and multipart, with intro, fill-in, variation and ending.

Editor
The embedded editor allow to create new rhythm from an existing one or even from scratch.
All division are allowed (4/4, 3/4, 12/8, 6/8 etc)
It show four tracks of events and one measure at time: every event is a sound with its volume.
High resolution division are used as default: every quarter note is divided by 24 ticks, at 12th ticks we have an 1/8 note, at 6Th ticks a 1/16 note, at 3 ticks 1/32 note, at 2 1/32 triplet, at 1 tick 1/64 triplet.
You simply touch a + symbols or an existing sound and the app show you a dialog for add, modify or clear an event.
On the selection list in the main screen the user sequences are show in blue bold style.
Rhythms Sharing
User sequences are stored in <sdcard>/drummerfriend/usersequences.xml that is a xml format file.
You can share your sequences with another user (that must have drummer friend ver 1.2 or above) sending this file as attachment with Gmail, using the share button of the editor.
When the user receive and views this attachment from Gmail using drummer friend, sequences will be imported.
Footswitch support
Footswitch support thru USB.
Need a device with USB HID support (keyboard/joystick); to check this you can connect an USB keyboard or a joystick with an USB OTG adapter cable and try to trigger events. If it works then also a generic HID USB footswitch should work.
Footswitch support thru headset switch.
Need a device with head set switch support. Useful for device that don't support USB HID and/or power out on USB port.

Live Mode
Live mode shows big controls for live!!
All controls works realtime then when drum play we can chnage on the fly:
- BPM beat per minuts via Slider, Tap Tempo (need three or more touch), + or - for fine setting.
- sounds map to play stick, brushes or tr808 vintage sounds.
